Clinical Study about Patinets with the Initial Treatment of Pulmonary Tuberculosis


Abstract
A clinical observation was made on 144 patients of pulmonary tuberculosis with firstline anti-tuberculosis drugs.
The patients were most common at the age of fourties and the ratio of male to female was 4:1.
Most of patients were admitted to the hospital with the state of far-advanced on the chest film and symptoms. And common symptoms were weight loss (80.6 %), coughing (76.4 %), sputum (72.2 %), fatigue and chest pain.
There were 64 cases of HRZES, 40 HRE or HRS, 28 HRZE or HRZS and 12 HRES. Among these total cases, 132 cases (91.7 %) of negative conversion. in sputum AFB ¢¥were achieved and especially 100 cases (83.3 %) of them were converted within 2 months from start of medication.
The most ferquent adverse reaction was rash and itching sensation of the skin.
In conclusion, short course therapy for 6 to 9 months will be more effective than longterm therapy in veiw of success rate of therapy and current intellectual and economical level of patients for our country.
